Technical User Configuration
Introduction
To make Issue Hierarchy Macro for Confluence work, we have to configure a technical user first.
A technical user can be any user, who is not a real person (most of the times) behind this account (many times used in Server products to act on behalf of other on events).
This account has an email address and access to the Jira Cloud instance.
A technical user can be also a “human“ user, who is a real person and has an account in Organizations Atlassian Cloud instances
Prerequisites
The technical user must have a Jira User license.
The technical user must have the Browse Permissions of the project you would like to extract data from, into Confluence.
The technical user must be in any Security Schemes of the project you would like to extract data from, into Confluence.
How-To
When the app is installed,
Navigate to Confluence Administration
On the left side, choose the option Atlassian Marketplace
Then, click on Manage Apps
On the new opened screen, locate the app Issue Hierarchy Macro for Confluence and click on it.
Then, click on the button “Configure“. This will guide you to configuration page of the app.
When you land on the Configuration page
Add the technical user’s email address in the text field as instructed
Add the technical user’s API Token in the text field as instructed
Click Submit
A new page will appear and information will be displayed to you, informing that the app is ready to be used.
